Jeff Schneider, Author of The Fix, The Games & Coming Soon... The Violation

It was conversations with an old basketball coach during his days at the University of Louisville that motivated Schneider to begin his first novel, The Fix. The late John Dromo, an assistant under Peck Hickman who also played a hand in bringing Johnny Unitas to U of L, told him recruiting tales about Wes Unseld, Butch Beard, Clem Haskins and many others, stories about coaches at other schools he knew were paying players, the day Adolph Rupp offered him a job anywhere "outside Kentucky" to keep him from recruiting against the mighty Wildcats, and other juicy drama being played out all across the country.

A former Division I basketball player, Schneider took three years to pen The Fix, and another six trying to get it published while he was the assistant director of sports information at Louisville working with Denny Crum and Howard Schnellenberger. He's done over 250 radio interviews about the book, including ESPN and Sports Illustrated.

His second novel, The Games is about Russia's attempt to once again become a world power in athletics, stealing the human cloning secret at the Salt Lake City Games.

His next novel, The Violation, delves into another scandalous epidemic rooted deeply in college athletics-student-athletes using steroids for good ol' State U!

What was it Muhammad Ali told Schneider? "Shake up the world, young man! Shake up the world!"
